Parents Club - Tuesdays

We have a fantastic new program for parents with young children. It's on Tuesday from 10:30am - 12:30pm during school terms and will be running for the next 12 months! There are plenty of snacks, hot drinks for the parents, and soft play for the kids. Come along to this free program every Tuesday! This program is in collaboration with ADF.

Community Cafe - Opening Soon!

The PCYC is so excited to be launching a new Cafe! We will be serving xzy and open xyz. The Cafe will provide work experience and support skills development for our local youth. Contact us to for more information or to get involved. The Community Cafe is made possible with the support of the Foundation For Rural & Regional Renewal. 

Brand New Basketball Hoops

Our basketball enthusiasts will be excited to hear that we have brand new basketball hoops on the way! These hoops will be attached to the wall and we except to have these installed by June 2025. This much anticipated upgrade has been made possible thanks to the funds generated by our dedicated members and facility users together with the support of Active Tasmania.  

New Pool Table

Our brand-new professional grade slate-based pool table has arrived! The pool table will support our project Community Cues, which is designed to provide a space for our community members to gather to play table sports away from the temptation of gambling. We also have a brand-new air hockey and foosball table here completely for free - so come along and have a play! This is in partnership with The Department of Premier and Cabinet. 

New Fun Factory Coming Soon!

PCYC and community members have been working hard at taking a part a playground in Kingston ahead of some new fun factory upgrades here at the PCYC. This exciting project will take place over the remainder of 2024 and 2025 and will see the Fun Factory expand! 

Kids In The Kitchen Cooking Class

Every school holiday, the PCYC will be hosting Kids in the Kitchen Eat well together by Bendigo Bank. This fantastic cooking class is a collaborative effort between the Huon Valley PCYC, Eat Well Tasmania and Bendigo bank to support healthy cooking and eating habits for kids. The class is for ages 8 to 12 years and is designed to give kids recipe ideas for things to cook at home. Spaces are limited for this, so please contact us for more information or to register your child!

Hilltop Hike Benficiary 2023

Thanks to the fund raised by The Hilltop Hike in 2023, The Huon Valley PCYC received just over $67,000. This has allowed us to add an additional day to the Drop-In Centre, provide staff with training, cover the cost of wages during the drop-in Centre and provide our community members with some new games and equipment. The Drop-In Centre runs completely for free for High School students every Monday from 3pm - 5pm.
